Marine conservation projects and awareness
Friend of the Sea Marine conservation projects
The Friend of the Sea certification programme was initiated to address widespread neglect of marine environments by industries. Despite commercial success, public awareness of ongoing threats to marine species remains limited.
To bridge this gap, Friend of the Sea is involved in various species-specific conservation projects to highlight overlooked issues. The objective is to urge decision-makers to enact appropriate legislation and address these concerns.
How can we be more aware of marine conservation issues?
The deteriorating state of the world’s oceans has led international institutions to increase efforts to reverse human-induced damage and preserve marine ecosystems. Leading bodies are promoting strategies for Sustainable use of marine resources while maintaining biodiversity.
Friend of the Sea supports marine conservation projects and collaborates on initiatives to protect endangered species. Friend of the Earth is also engaged in conservation projects concerning the protection of endangered terrestrial species and landscapes, which can be found here.
Join us in shaping the Future: Get involved in our Projects!
With over 20 years of expertise, we craft, curate, and support conservation and awareness projects for species and ecosystems threatened by human actions globally.
Pollution, deforestation, climate change, and overexploitation of natural resources are serious problems to be solved immediately, and that’s why we must act promptly to safeguard our planet.
After a long and careful research, we have identified and established top tier projects (in collaboration with prestigious and reliable partners), which make a tangible and significant difference in preserving nature and biodiversity.
World Sustainability Foundation’s active projects
Our projects fall into two main categories:
Ocean Projects (Friend of the Sea projects): These are projects closely related to our seas and oceans.
Earth Projects (Friend of the Earth projects): These are projects closely related to land.
You can decide to donate generically to one of these two categories (or both) or select a specific project.
